Taekwondo - What is Taekwondo?

Taekwondo is an approach to the martial arts, that instills just more than physical fighting skills. It is a self-discipline that shows ways of accelerating our spirit and life by way of training our body and mind. Immediately, it has grown into a worldwide sport that's ascertained a world attraction, and is among one of many Olympic games.

What is the meaning of Tae Kwon Do?

It's comprised of three distinct parts "Tae-Kwon-Do", nevertheless, it's made up of only one word in Korean. "Tae" means "foot," "to step on," or "leg"; "Kwon" means "struggle," or "fist"; and "Do" means the "way" or "discipline." If we put these three parts collectively, we can see a couple of critical ideas behind TaeKwonDo.

First, Taekwondo is the enlightened way of using "Tae" and "Kwon" which are comprised of your "fists" and "toes", or all of your body parts that represent your fists and feet.

Secondly, Taekwondo is a path to regulate a fighting situation so the end result of the situation is peace. This concept comes from the that means of Tae Kwon "to put fists under management". Thus Taekwondo means "the right way of using your entire body parts to stop fights and help to create a world with peace."

Taekwondo has developed alongside side the history of Korea and has , been represented by several different labels in all through the course of it's history. In Korea, Taekwondo started out as a protection martial art called "Taekkyon" or "Subak," and made as a way of difficult body and mind in the historic kingdom of Koguryo, under the name of "Sunbae." In the Shilla interval, it had become the backbone of Hwarangdo that centered on producing leaders of the country.

Taekwondo immediately is just like arts in different Asian countries and combines concepts and ideas with them, because all through its history it has incorporated many various kinds that were in the nations that surrounded them, like Japan and China.

However Taekwondo sets itself apart from many oriental martial arts in a couple respects. First, physically it may be very dynamic with active movements that embrace a mirage of foot skills. Secondly, the physical movements are in line with that of the mind and life as a whole.

Third, it possesses dynamic poomsae (see poomsae within the martial arts) from another perspective. Taekwondo will be characterized by unity: the unity of body, mind, and life, and the unity of the poomsae and confrontation. Once you participate in Taekwondo, you must quite your mind and synchronize your mind with your movements, and spread this concord to your life and society. This is how the principle of the physical movements, the principle of training ones mind, and the precept of oneness of life change into whole.

Taekwondo is an attitude about life, just like every other side of ones life like having a job, elevating a household, or combating for something in which you imagine in. What sets Taekwondo apart from these is that it is an activity for survival in extremely life altering situations. One should always overcome the enemy that is making an attempt to cause hurt to you. But merely winning a combat just isn't sufficient to ensure one's security, because the enemy may recuperate and try to assault you again. Additionally, there may be many different enemies than the one that was just defeated. An individual cannot ever truly feel safe unless that particular person good points a continued sense of peace. To establish this everlasting or lasting sense of peace, one wants wholeness. This is the goal of Taekwondo. In any other case Taekwondo would be no different from another avenue-fighting skills.
