Agile (Scrum) Certification & Management Books

Project Management Books

Nowadays, almost all companies are adopting Agile because of the dynamic environment in which we are executing projects. This is the main reason why we can see so many Agile/Scrum based certifications in today’s market like PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner, Certified Scrum Master, Professional Scrum Master etc. Out of these, PMI-ACP exam covers all variants of Agile like Scrum, XP, Kanban, FDD, DSDM etc. More details can be found at this Agile section. There are various Agile certification books in the market from which one can prepare for PMI-ACP exam. However, 3 books standout when it comes down explaining concepts in very easy manner. The first book is from Mike Griffiths, which is my favorite. I studied it during my preparation of the PMI-ACP exam. The second book is from Andy Crowe. The number of pages in the book by Andy Crowe is almost half as compared to Mike Griffith book, but it explains all concepts in clear and summarized way. The third book is from O’Reilly. There are exercises at the end of each chapter, full length tests, glossary section, lots of examples, etc.

These books will not only help in grasping agile concepts but will also teach how to develop agile mindset and implement it in our projects. Learning agile is different from being agile and all below mentioned books will help to develop agile mindset which will help in easily answering all the situational based questions in the certification exams. It will also help in the great way if we are planning to transform our organization to execute projects as per the agile methodology.
