RFID Technology For Tracking And Finding Misplaced Assets

Immediately's RFID technology affords the industry's most innovative and cheap implementation of RFID technology to seek out misplaced files, enabling missing files to be quickly positioned using a RFID portable scanner. All that is required is label printing software and a portable RFID scanner. New file folders are originated and labeled with RFID smart labels that embrace an antenna and pc chip. The radio waves produced by the portable scanner are absorbed by the label's antenna, which powers the RFID laptop chip, which then sends the file folders identification number back via the same radio waves, and the scanner beeps faster or slower relying on proximity to the folder that's being searched-for.

Using a web based web label printing software enables file folder labels to be printed with text fields, bar code and coloration-coding, using normal office ink jet printers. The underside of the label features a RFID antenna and computer chip, meaning every new folder being originated only requires a single label. The RFID folder technology resolution also provides options for printing, application and conversion providers to make-ready present folders.

RFID labels include a bar code that matches the file number in a host database. The scanner supports bar code and RFID. Scan the bar code on the folder, and then pull the RFID trigger on the scanner. The file number represented by the bar code is then encoded into the computer chip on the label, in order that the RFID number equals the host database file number. This permits RFID implementation without set up of a RFID database management system.

The portable RFID scanner enables file searches by file name, description or number, to choose files that must be found, or, file number's can be entered by virtual keyboard. The RFID portable detector might be pointed in offices, file rooms or wherever files are located, and the scanner will be when a file on the list is discovered, will highlight the folder found (on the screen) after which will beep faster when getting closer to the file, or slower when moving away from the file, to guide the person right to the file!

RFID has a right away return-on-funding, by saving more employees time than the investment in the RFID discover a folder technology. This technology resolution will be simply expanded to push location data to a host database, through the use of the scanner for file inventories, and/or could be expanded for strong iterations of RFID file tracking, accountability and chain-of-custody.
